Aly- 1 Month Update!

1) Baby Name and Age: Alejandra aka Aly- 1 month today!
2) Weight/length/clothing size being worn: At her appointment today, she was 8lbs 10 1/2 oz. She was 7lbs 5oz at birth and went down to 6lb 15oz. She is currently in 0-3 month clothes.
3) Food! Formula? Breastmilk? Combo? Fill us in: Exclusively breastfeeding and its going GREAT! *knock on wood*
4) Sleep habits: Goes to bed around 9:30 or 10pm, wakes up between 1:30 and 2:30 for a feeding and changing. After that initial stretch, she wakes up every 2 hours and then finally sleeps until 7:30 or 8. She was sleeping quite a bit during the day but now she's staying up more and more.
5) What is your baby's day like (routine?): We get up between 7:30 or 8 every morning and get changed and feed. Sometimes she will take a nap after but lately she has been up more and more. The day consists of laying on her play mat, sitting in her bouncy chair, etc. Sometimes we go for an outing depending on what I have to do. She naps here and there and eats every 2 hours in the day. In the evening, we have a bedtime routine. We have a short feeding and have some floor/tummy time. We then take a bath together (she goes in with me), lotion, diaper cream, feeding and then bed. :)
6) What is driving you crazy, if anything: Not a thing. She's so wonderful. :)
7) Baby milestones: She "talks" a loooot! lol
8) Are your health and weight loss concerns going well?: Oh yea, all my weight gain in pregnancy was pretty much water and swelling. I was 137 before getting pregnant, my last appointment the day before delivery I was 184. At my follow up at the midwife's office after 6 days, I was down to 148. I've held steady to that weight since I lost a lot of muscle mass from the swelling. My legs were really thin looking so I didn't want to lose any more too quickly. Today I was 149 and I'm fine with that. :)
9)Anything else?: Can't believe its been a month... feels like I've had her forever at the same time.

So, how is everyone doing?

I'm curious... I never EVER imagined I would co-sleep but have found us doing it every night. She sleeps where ever during the day but at night she either sleeps between the hubby and I or on his chest.
I never did any research on it since I hadn't planned on doing it. I love it yet I'm so anxious and nervous at the same time.

Anyone feel similar? What are your sleeping arrangements? How did you get over the fear? Another reason we are doing it is that she HATES being swaddled! So I don't want her being cold. We don't run a heater but the house doesn't get TOO cool. I bought her some sleeper pajamas but they are still too big.

Sorry, I'm just sort of rambling. I'm experiencing the first-time mom paranoia and I just don't know how to cope! lol

One month update

1) Baby Name and Age:
Evelynne Hope, 1 month (tomorrow)

2) Weight/length/clothing size being worn:
8 lbs, 9 oz; 21 and 1/3rd inches; she's now fitting into some of her 0-3 month clothes and no longer fits anything with a NB size!

3) Food! Formula? Breastmilk? Combo? Fill us in:
All breastmilk! The only weird thing we're doing is we use a nipple shield because apparently I have large nipples and she just could never get a good latch

4) Sleep habits:
She sleeps whenever she wants! There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it!

5) What is your baby's day like (routine?):
We have very little routine to our day; I feed her on demand and let her sleep and be awake whenever she wants. This week I've started a bedtime routine of bathtime at 7:30pm and a story then eating at 8pm, and that's been a really good bonding routine that daddy can help with.

6) What is driving you crazy, if anything:
Cluster nursings at night. Come on kiddo, at least give me two hours of sleep before you want to nurse again! Only having an hour between nursings really takes it's toll on me, especially at night.

7) Baby milestones:
Nothing yet :( no smiles or laughs, or anything that she hasn't been doing since birth. this month, I'm sure we'll start seeing a real personality in her!

8) Are your health and weight loss concerns going well?:
I'm a little concerned because this week I've starting having some stinging where my main tear was from the birth, and it hasn't hurt at all since one week from the birth so I'm hoping it didn't tear or get infected or something. I'm going to the dr next week so we'll see. And as far as weight... Meh. I've lost about 15 lbs, but I'm not that worried about it because I only went up a total of 25 lbs.

9) Anything else?:
I'm going back to work in two weeks and I'm really sad about it :( maybe by the time we have another I can be a stay at home mom, or at least start working part time instead.

Due soon?

Anyone else due soon and not showing ANY signs yet?

I'm due on Tuesday (the 18th) and have NO signs of anything going on. Baby seems to have dropped once in a while (I feel pressure when I get up from laying down) but it isn't consistent and doesn't stay. No mucous plug, Braxton Hicks are still nearly indiscernible. No bleeding... my nesting hasn't become any stronger than when it started 4 weeks ago...

Also, what is your opinion on how labor is genetically? Do you think people tend to have labors like their moms did? I'm really hoping mine turns out like my mom. xD So far I've carried and had almost an identical pregnancy to my mom with me. And her labor was easy as PIE. Like.. sleeping through the whole thing... No drugs and being woken up to push and work with contractions. xD Here's hoping its genetic! lol

Someone give me a glimmer of hope that this pregnancy is not going to continue on another 2 weeks! lol

Congrats, btw, to the mommies who have delivered recently. :) Hope to be joining you SOON!

Update: Little Evelynne is finally home! She is beautiful and perfect and nursing like a PRO, which is awesome because we supplimented with formula to help get rid of the jaundice, and I was so scared it would be difficult to put her back to the breast. But she took right back to it, and my milk is practically POURING out, so we're doing really good with breastfeeding. I'm increadibly happy right now, and I can't wait to hear from you guys about your babies when you have them and bring them home!
